"Thank you for giving our sixth graders the opportunity to hear you speak. The information you shared with them is invaluable. Students at this age level need to be reminded of the significance of making wise decisions, the advantages of responding rather than reacting, and most importantly the benefits of laughter. You communicated this to them on their level and in a way in which they will never forget. I would like to share with you something one of my students said to me on Friday (the day after our retreat). We had just finished taking a science test and Jennifer proudly told me that she smiled during the entire test, so she could keep her brain cool and think clearly.
